My name is Katie Hollander and I am the head trainer at New Beginnings Dog Training. I have been passionate about animals my entire life. For the first 11 years of my life, I rode and competed horses in eventing. I achieved a C1 rating as a member of the Rockwall County Pony Club. As my experience grew, I started training off the track thoroughbreds. While attending high school, I was apart of the FFA and learned about caring and showing livestock animals.Towards the end of my high school experience, my family found a little, black puppy on the street. My parents brought her home and everyone fell in love with her. From day one, she was a handful. We had no experience with high energy dogs. My parents were thinking of rehoming her, so I offered an agreement: If I train her, can we keep her? They agreed. From then on, I worked with her everyday and did extensive research on different training methods. She earned her trick title, CGC, CGC Urban. We entered her in a few barn hunt trials where she brought home the yellow ribbon out of 20 competitors. I mentored a local dog trainer that inspired me to start training other dogs on my own. In 2022, I started my first professional dog training job at Cosmic Canine. I worked with fear/anxiety, dog aggression, and human aggression cases. After years of working there, I decided to venture out on my own and start my own dog training business. In total I have 20 years of animal care/handling experience and 6+ years of dog training experience. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and helping owners to improve their relationship with their dog!
