Ready for real training?

Whether we’re your first choice or a last resort, Koru K9 will ensure that your canine companion is the perfect addition to your pack.

My name is Klaudia Markus, I was previously a horse trainer which brought me to the US from Hungary 10 years ago, and I got my citizenship in 2017. I graduated from a six-month program at Tarheel K9 School in North Carolina where I was immersed in both pet and working dog training. This was an extensive program with classroom time, but mostly it was hands-on experience. From basic pet obedience to preparing Police K9’s for the street, I learned to work with a wide range of temperaments and how to problem-solve on the fly. I also have a lot of experience with my personal dogs.

Currently, I have two Belgian Malinois, my male is competing in PSA K9 Sport (just started in Level 2), and I work my female in tracking and detection. I have previously owned a variety of breeds including Husky, Dalmatian, Komondor and mixed breeds. Before I found dog training, I was a horse trainer for the past twelve years. I worked for high-level professional horse riders + trainers both in Europe and also here in the US. I have always loved training animals and after starting to compete in the sport world with my Malinois, I decided I wanted to pursue this full-time and went to Tarheel to get an education and start.
