We have a pack of five small, young, energetic dogs — each with their own personality and needs. We struggled to train them because their behaviors were so different, and each required a different approach. Things reached a breaking point when one of our dogs, Gidden, began trying to control his environment through aggression. He started biting and attacking the other dogs, us, and even our guests.
We put Gidden on anti-anxiety medication, which helped somewhat, but he was still unpredictable and lashed out daily. He was hurting us and the other dogs, and we felt like we were losing control. We even began to feel afraid of him, and we reluctantly started to consider that he might need a different home. But we love him dearly — he has the best smile — so we decided to try one last intervention: professional dog training.
We called Koru K9 and explained our situation. To our relief, they had a skilled trainer in our area who specialized in working with aggressive dogs – Will Greenway. Over five sessions, Will gave us a framework for understanding pack dynamics and taught us how to address each dog’s behavior individually with tailored strategies.
With Gidden, Will showed us how to teach impulse-control commands that prevent or quickly diffuse tense situations. The results have been incredible — Gidden is calmer, and his aggression has decreased significantly. Will also taught us effective techniques to reduce unwanted barking, jumping, and potty accidents.
The change in our household has been profound. The dynamics have shifted, and we now have the tools to maintain a calmer, more harmonious home. Thank you, Will!
