Dog Trainer – Boise

Boise ID, Idaho

Boise Dog Trainer

As a Koru K9 trainer in Boise, Idaho, you will support a thriving outdoor-focused community where dogs are an essential part of daily life. Boise residents spend weekends hiking, biking, and exploring the foothills, so there is strong demand for dogs who can handle high-distraction environments, off-leash settings, and reliable recall work. Many clients adopt active working breeds or herding dogs who need structure, engagement, and clear communication.

Boise also has a large rescue community, which often brings behavior cases involving fear, reactivity, or under-socialization. Trainers in this region work with families in areas like Meridian, Eagle, and Nampa, each offering slightly different training needs — from busy suburban environments to wide-open rural spaces.

This is an excellent market for trainers who love problem-solving, outdoor training sessions, and helping dogs succeed in real-world scenarios. In Boise, you’ll be valued not just as a trainer, but as an essential partner in giving dogs the freedom and confidence to enjoy the adventurous Idaho lifestyle.

A Little About Us

Koru K9 is one of the nation’s leading dog training and behavior-modification companies. We have an absolutely amazing team of trainers that all work beautifully together. We are balanced trainers that work with any dog, any breed, any problem — with a specialty in aggressive behavior modification. Our focus is on establishing mutual trust and respect and the relationship with the client and the dog. We feel that safety, transparency, and communication are more important than training, and our protocols go above and beyond industry standards. We do not offer quick fixes — we move at the speed of the dog.

A Little About You

We are seeking an experienced, balanced trainer. The ideal person would not only have experience with behavior modification cases, but also work their own dog(s) in some capacity. If you have a set up to take board and train clients, that would be ideal (though we have VERY specific requirements for our Board & Train trainers, it would have to be approved first). No ego, I mean it. We do what we do because we love helping dogs and their owners, it’s about them, not us. You must play nicely with others, and must have good communication and organization skills. We are actively seeking graduates of TRS and Tarheel canine (or schools along those lines).

A Little About The Gig

You’ll be busy if you want to be. For private in home — plan for at least 10-20 new clients per month, largely based on your availability. If you are taking board and train clients, then we will talk about the number of dogs you can take. We keep it small so you can focus on plenty of training for the client dogs. all trainers are ics — you set your own schedule. It’s a pretty sweet gig where you are going to focus on the clients and we take care of the rest. You will need a reliable car as you will be driving to clients. You will work with us, not for us.

We are searching for a professional, experienced balanced dog trainer who:

✔ Has hands-on experience with:

  • Moving at the speed of the dog

  • E-collar and prong collar training

  • Behavior modification (reactivity, anxiety, fear, aggression)

  • Real-world obedience and off-leash reliability

  • Owner coaching and follow-through sessions

  • Board & Train and/or private lessons

✔ Is:

  • Confident working independently but loves being part of a team

  • Calm, patient, and excellent with client communication

  • Coachable and excited to work within the Koru K9 system

  • Solution-oriented and able to think on your feet

Our trainers make 50-70% of total training packages sold, depending on experience. With the goal to get trainers being paid 70% as quickly as possible, so you are paid well for your hard work.
