When should I start training my puppy?
The ideal time to begin puppy training is as soon as your new puppy comes home. This critical early period is known as the socialization window — when your puppy is most receptive to learning. Koru K9 puppy programs are open to puppies 16 weeks to under 6 months old.

We offer immersive Board & Train programs designed specifically for puppies, where they live in a trainer's home to build structure, as well as follow-up coaching sessions and 12 months of digital guidance via the LunaDogAI app.
Is my puppy old enough for a Board & Train program?+
Our dedicated puppy Board & Train programs are designed for puppies aged 16 weeks to under 6 months. For dogs older than 6 months or those with established behavioral issues, we recommend our standard Board & Train or Hybrid programs.
How to start puppy training+
1\. Start Early: Begin as soon as your puppy comes home, as this is when they're most receptive to learning. 2. Focus on the Fundamentals: Start with housebreaking, crate training, and proper socialization. 3. Build a Foundation in Core Obedience: Teach basic commands like sit, stay, and come using positive reinforcement methods. 4. Seek Professional Guidance: Work with an expert trainer who can provide personalized feedback and a structured plan.
Will my young puppy be fully trained when it comes home?+
Training your dog is something that should be a constant and continual process in your dog's life. By starting your puppy off young, you are setting good foundation to build on top of. Your dog, much like a young child, will go through development changes, and you'll need to stay consistent with training / continue to advance as your dog matures. Rest assured, we can help you through this process.
