We cannot say enough about Kareena Moore and our experience with Koru! We were a little hesitant because she didn’t have many reviews, but I don’t know why. She is amazing and we will continue to use her for all our dog training forever!
We adopted a 1 year old Aussie Cattle dog mix during COVID. He had leash reactivity and fear aggression around new people, and he really attacked a couple other dogs viciously. We were desperate for help. We did intensive training with reward only trainers, but ultimately we couldn’t ever get him back once he went into his red zone. He was just oblivious to us and any rewards. Waving roast beef in his nose – nothing.
Kareena came and took him for 6 weeks (we wound up extending it to 8 weeks because we were moving). At first it was horribly traumatic for us all!! He looked so sad in his pictures and we were crying when she took him away. We really felt we had failed him. Kareena was super understanding and held our hands.
She sent lots of pics and videos every week and we could really see him going from being miserable to really learning and loving Kareena. She sis use the prong and e-collars to work with him, but I was concerned. I actually put the e-collar on myself and clicked it and it isn’t painful – just annoying enough to break him out of his red zone and remind him he has skills now.
We went from dragging our dogs away from the door when people were there, to giving them a “place” command where they now sit quietly while we greet visitors.
Leash walking is still a challenge and we work on it daily (almost…) but we have the tools to get through him reacting to other dogs now and it’s a LOT better. He is amazing at the LEAVE IT command, which I think is the greatest thing ever invented. Kareena comes to spend an hour with us every couple weeks to make sure we are doing well, and with her teaching US as well as the dog, we are really doing so well. Cosmo can’t wait to see her when she comes – he loves her so much!! And so do we! We are keeping Kareena for life!!
