For dogs with big behaviors, and families who won’t give up.
If the leash reactivity or aggression feels unfixable, we want you to know it’s not.
Rebuild trust. Create structure. Enjoy life with your dog again.
Replace conflict with calm. Koru K9 helps San Francisco Bay Area families resolve dog aggression issues and leash reactivity—dog-to-dog, human aggression, leash lunging/barking, resource guarding, fear-based reactions, and more, using safety-first, balanced training that works in real life.
Every dog—and every owner—is unique. We design a custom training plan around your goals, then use the Koru K9 method to turn clarity and consistency into a calm, trusting bond.
Safety first: thoughtful setups, leash management, and muzzle acclimation—so training stays humane and safe.
Balanced, real-world methods: clear markers, structure, and pressure-and-release guidance to teach what to do—not just what not to do.
Home-based Board & Train: your dog lives in a trainer’s home and practices in real environments (sidewalks, parks, storefronts)—not a warehouse of kennels.
Small caseload, big focus: limited dogs per trainer for high-quality reps and attention.
Owner coaching: we train you, too—so results last at home and around the city.
Progress you can see: structured goals, video/photo updates, and step-by-step homework.
We offer private, in-home dog training and personalized board and train programs for aggressive dogs in the San Francisco Bay Area — including throughout East Bay and North Bay.
We take a personalized approach to each dog’s needs and each owner’s needs, creating a customized training program to achieve their goals. Through the Koru K9 method, we will help you develop a relaxed and trusting relationship with your pet.
Whether you’re here for court-ordered training or you just want to be able to have guests over again, you’re in the right place. A calm, confident dog is closer than you think.
Ever wonder why quick-turn programs don’t work? It’s because they use forced compliance, creating unreliable behaviors that often lead to regression.
Our programs are different: we build trust, clarity and real-world readiness at a pace that respects your dog’s needs.
We use a balanced, relationship-first approach that blends:

Not always. Many leash-reactive dogs are frustrated or anxious, not truly aggressive. We evaluate your dog’s triggers and tailor a plan for neutral, calm behavior on leash.
It depends on severity and your schedule, and your comfort level. Many reactive dogs do well with a hybrid of immersive work plus owner coaching; we’ll recommend the best path after your evaluation. The most important thing to remember is you must remain consistent with training.
Yes. We pair rewards for good choices with fair, well-timed consequences for unwanted or unsafe behaviors. There is no one sized fits all approach when it comes to dog training. We do what is best for your dog.
We highly advocate for dogs to be muzzle trained to keep them and those around them safe. Even the “friendliest” of dogs can be pushed to their limit (think v-e-t). We acclimate your dog to a basket muzzle so outings stay safe and stress is reduced.
You’ll get practical safety strategies right away; durable change comes from consistent practice and coaching. We also recommend checking out LunaDogAI to help protect your training investment.
Let’s turn the chaos into calm, and get you enjoying life with your dog again.
