Happy Independence Day from our Pack to yours! Please keep your pets safe during the holiday. Booming fireworks, loud crowds and parties can be challenging for some pets. More pets are lost on the 4th than any other day of the year, according to Petfinder.
A few quick tips to help keep your dog safe and secure this 4th of July holiday:
- Be sure to take your dog for a nice, long walk before any festivities. A tired dog is a good dog! And, you get your walk out of the way before any fireworks start.
- Crates = safety. Give your dog a safe place to go when things start to get loud. Keep windows shut to reduce the noise.
- To help reduce the noise, play music (Through a Dog’s Ear), the TV or white noise.
- When it comes time for festivities…leave your dog at home!
